A Word from Dawn Shaxon…

After something like 27 years I finally decided that the time was right to make some changes and so on June 28th I retired from my post as Parish Administrator.

My last day was celebrated in style! It started with breakfast at Lot and ended with a fabulous party with delicious food and flowing wine (and gin). Many, many thanks go to Andy and Alice, Lisa, Michelle, Natalie and everyone involved in the organisation. I received some wonderful and generous gifts for which I am very grateful. Huge thanks also to all of you who shared the day with me.

I didn’t feel brave enough to make a speech on the night but now I would just like to record a few thoughts.

I have seen many changes during this time, to the building, to the different challenges faced by the Parish, to the different styles of worship and range of activities. Many different faces have come and gone, and many different people have been involved in the work, worship and fellowship of this Parish. One thing has remained consistent and that is the kindness, hard work and devotion of so many people who strive to make this Parish a better place. I have met and worked with some wonderful people, and I thank you all for your help, inspiration and friendship.

With love and gratitude, Dawn

P.S. I will no longer be in the Church Office but continue to be Churchwarden and Deanery Secretary. I will still be responsible for organising readers, intercessors sidesmen etc. Please contact me on shaxondawn@gmail.com

With every blessing, Andy
